Query: If you were perusing a slash archive, and found a story in which Clark is turned into a girl for most of the way through (and boffs Lex while possessing female equipment), would you feel wronged? I'm just not sure if I should post Skin Deep at the SSA, and I don't really want to get anybody mad.

Also, Stargate's Wormhole X-treme was exactly what I needed tonight. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

And finally, a friend and I were watching vids today, and she brought up the Groundhog Day cliche. You don't see it in stories so much, only film/television. Why is that, I wonder? Is it because repetition is easier to bear when viewed? You'd think you could write a quick repetition montage-like thing, but it would be a technical challenge. Hmm. Perhaps I shall add it to my list.

As for the Groundhog Day cliche, I can think of two Sentinel stories that used that premise ("Life Lived Like A Mentos Commercial" by Mallory Klohn, and I can't remember the other one, title or author.) And actually, Sarah T. and I were going to write one in SV once. Fun with Lex's particle accelerator! It had to be good for something, right? We wrote the whole setup, got about two days in and stalled.

It would've been funny, though. :D Poor Lex. We gave him the worst day ever. Jonathan lectured him, and Lionel yelled at him, and Clark was wearing a really tight shirt and being clueless. Oh, and the fertilizer plant blew up. *grins*

I'll bet you're thinking of "Deja Vu" by Alexis Gunn. (Her stories are here (http://members.tripod.com/AlexisGunn/sentinelstory.htm).) I remember quite liking it when I read it. In fact I feel stirred to reread it now. Nothing like authorial avoidance in action. ;>)

Yes, that's it! *beams* That's really such a great structure for a Jim-fic, because he's utterly believable both as the guy who's realized that the repeating day gives him license to act like an insane asshole and enjoy every minute of it... and also the guy who is finally happy during the day by just being a big SWEETIE to everyone who crosses his path.

*sigh* Thanks for the link.

"Cascade, huh?" asked the trooper, looking at his license. "May I ask what you’re doing up this way, Mr. Ellison?"

"I’m a serial killer," said Jim, "and this is my next victim, Blair Sandburg."

I would pay serious money for that story. In fact, if you still had the notes around, I would kneel at your feet and beg to see them. After a night of pondering, I thought my version would have Clark doing the repeat, and Lex dying at the end of the day. But yours sounds much better.
