(For the record? I had half the Support response written for that feature request, and I actually had the feature request page open to add the ticket to the list on PMs. Think it's time to sleep.)

I can see why the archive might not want it! I know people sometimes just have accounts to be readers/commenters, and ordinarily I would worry about getting into some sort of Alphonse and Gaston cycle; kudos are great when you can't think of something to say and if I PM'ed back people might feel pressed to engage further, and that's anti-kudos! I just really appreciated them today.

Actually, most of the support crew thinks it's a good idea, for all sorts of reasons. But yeah, kudos are creating all sorts of new manners protocols.
