I realize that I don't know as many of you all as I thought I did. Someday, perhaps after I grade my exams, I will read everybody's LJ, but for now I'd really love to get to know you better -- in a way that requires less effort on my part. So, how's about it? Also, should I review more books or fewer? What about music and movies? I'm unbudgeable on the fic, so those of you who aren't here for that are just going to have to skip it.

ETA: Specific questions about you:

What do you like to talk about?

I'm guessing we're mostly media fans, so what are your fandoms?

Would Superman take Batman, or would Batman beat Superman? (I have a very strong opinion on the latter.)

*grins* Oh, you'll be sorry you said that. *hee*

On the mind-power thing: it's not really been covered all that well. I mean Supes has been attributed the power of 'super-intellect' and super-memory' lots of different times in the comics (reading a 500 page book in 10 seconds, memorising entire scenes, etc) but the only time it's been specifically referred to as a superpower is the Torquasm-Vo.

Basically it's a technique used in an ancient Kryptonian fighting discipline called Torquasm-Rao that works by shifting the consciousness into a higher (Theta) state, and fighting one's foe on a purely mental level.

To use it, Supes has to relax his body and allow his mind to hyper-extend itself. He doesn't use it often - it does require great exertion and mental strain and, to put not too fine a point on it, it knackers him out, even when he's all solar-powered up to the max.

Also, he hasn't mastered it yet. He does understand it well enough to teach the principles to Lois *rolls eyes* who meditates and practices it with him.

She had to help him with it when he fought Kem-L, I believe. But they did also have some bots, courtesy of Professor Steel.

I'm shutting up now. *sheepish*
