I realize that I don't know as many of you all as I thought I did. Someday, perhaps after I grade my exams, I will read everybody's LJ, but for now I'd really love to get to know you better -- in a way that requires less effort on my part. So, how's about it? Also, should I review more books or fewer? What about music and movies? I'm unbudgeable on the fic, so those of you who aren't here for that are just going to have to skip it.

ETA: Specific questions about you:

What do you like to talk about?

I'm guessing we're mostly media fans, so what are your fandoms?

Would Superman take Batman, or would Batman beat Superman? (I have a very strong opinion on the latter.)

hi there!

To introduce myself, I'm Quianca

I'm 33, married and a scientist working for the "GIANT drug company". I've just moved back to the US after a stint as a PhD student in Scotland (almost 3 years), and I discovered LJ through the XF fandom (rachel anton, I think). My fandoms are XF, Buffy, and Angel, although I've read a bit of JAG, and during the early dawson years searched for quality FF, usually without success.

I stumbled across FF quite accidentaly, and found a story called "Friendship" by Melinda S. Dawney- which was W/A, and was mesmerised. I've tried to write a few things, but at the moment am writing my thesis (200+ pages!!) so that's where all my writing skills are focused at the moment, although I have an idea kicking around that I may try to get on paper.

Definietly more books, love reading the reviews, and of movies too. (No- worries about the fic, I've actually become more attached to it than to the shows themselves, there is so much quality stuff out there, which in my opinion stays more true to the characters)

Anyway- "hi!" nice to meet you!

Re: hi there!

Hi yourself! Work writing does tend to get in the way of pleasure writing, or in my case the reverse. When I was in private practice, I did some work for a couple of big drug companies. I find a lot of that stuff fascinating. There's a blog, Lagniappe, which I read every day for my pharma fix.
