What's the Martian Manhunter's symbol? Like the bat, the "S," the power ring, the lightning bolt -- what do you use for J'onn Jonzz? I was thinking a stylized dragon, but am I just basing that on the JL animated series credits? (While I'm at it, what are the symbols for Hawkgirl and Aquaman? But I really need to know the MM's.)

Yeah, I guess it is a little like talking about the "imaginary" varieties of Kryptonite. As opposed to all those real varieties out there.

(Yellow K is imaginary, in case you were wondering.)

I don't think he's got one.

Goddamnit, are you poaching on my SV Martian Manhunter story before I've even written it??? It's a good thing you don't live in NYC anymore, man.

No, and I can't wait to see yours. I need to know the symbols because Lex has a font, you see ...

The next reply says J'onn and the rest do have symbols, and I remember seeing a whole bunch in the window at Midtown Comics, including a few that I had to think hard about before getting.

He doesn't have one in toonverse. I don't remember ever seeing one associated with him in the comics (and I don't remember seeing one on the cover of the *Martian Manhunter* title), but I definitely don't follow JLA closely enough to dispute someone who has.

It's my one, sad, last little SV story idea. *hugs it protectively* But Clark has to get to a place where I don't just want to kick him in the nads before I can even think about writing it.

You can find their symbols on the wallpapers here:

it's just a circle with lines...blegh...
I've not seen one for Aquaman...
:)

PS: I am assuming that Aquaman's is that 'A'
on his belt...in yellow...

Blegh is right. I may go with a stylized dragon on grounds of aesthetic compatibility anyway.

Thanks for the link! Pretty wallpapers.

Really rather intensely random, but I liked the one they gave him for ABW.

There is never any bad in recalling "A Better World," and that's a damn sight better than the one on those wallpapers -- which looks like a Trivial Pursuit token -- but I'm not sure it has the iconic recognizability needed for my purposes -- I've now convinced myself that a green dragon's head should be the equivalent of the "WW," "S," bat, power ring, and lightning bolt.

Oh, the dragon SO works.

*pervs madly on the J'onn-on-J'onn smackdown again*

Mmmm, HJOJA!

I was going to do a whole bit about that, back when I was thinking about doing a J'onn five things, but I lost inspiration.

Manhunters symbol

When DC does huge Justice League thingies where it's confusing whose thought bubble is whose, they use the mars sign to denote the Martian Manhunter

http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/mars/statistics.html

Superman gets the S, Batman a bat, and Lantern a lantern, and uh... I forget the rest.

Re: Manhunters symbol

Hmmm ... no, I'm gonna have to stick with the dragon. It's just cooler that way. Thanks for the info!
