Note to Laurell Hamilton: Commas, like the apostrophes they resemble, can be jarring when out of context. I really don't think "Who are you to play, God?" is what you meant.
After a certain career point I think some authors, like some musicians, can simply veto any level of editing they decide they don't want. Perhaps that's Hamilton's problem?

I've been bugged by typos, etc. since the very first book, and I fear it's the end of civilization as we know it!
(Not really, but I do think published books, with covers and everything, ought to be grammatically perfect. So sue me.) :)
