Launch just sang me the new Magnetic Fields song, "I Thought You Were My Boyfriend," and it is my instant summer favorite, up there with I Am the World Trade Center's "Future Sightings," which is breezy pop of the highest order. (They took the name before 9/11 and decided not to change it, despite the name of the eleventh song on their first album.) The Magnetic Fields EP, with 3 mixes of the song, is available for 49 cents at iTunes, and you can and should download "Future Sightings" for free here.

heh. I always thought you would make a great SV vid to the Magnetic Fields' song "I don't believe you, a song which can be found on the same album "I thought you were my boyfriend" appears (it is called "i").

My friend just gave me copies of their three CD set called "69 love songs" and I consider myself a very lucky girl today...

I'll have to check it out. I only know a little Magnetic Fields. Actually, in my head I've vidded "Future Sightings" for Clark with Lex and/or Chloe.

Last summer was totally owned by Fountains of Wayne, so I guess the MF deserve a turn. I miss being able to hear different singers than Stephin Merritt, though. Love his songs, am eeeh about his voice. Highly recommend the whole album.
