Probably as a way of escaping recent events, I find myself really interested in Teen Wolf recs, probably Derek/Stiles, but I'll take anything that is decently plot-heavy, has some angst, and ideally doesn't require knowledge of later seasons' canon. I don't know either, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

and now i need to curl up with some Sterek :)

Wow, that's a tough one.

So I just looked at a typical best of list and...

A lot of the most popular ones tend to be total AUs and weirdly domestic (like DILF, Cupboard Love, and a glutton of choose any profession AUs). There are great porn AUs and stripper AUs and rentboy AUs (Sell Your Body to the Night, Don't Worry Baby). For quirky AUs I really like kellifer_fic.

A lot of post Season 1 stuff is very pack-heavy, mostly, all the kids move on to college (headlong I'm falling), all the kids come back to Bacon Hills (Sacred in the Ordinary), etc.

And then there's the werewolf heavy stuff, like wolf-societies with great dystopias (humans are slaves/wolves are slaves, etc) Alpha Spikes on the list fits.

I have a soft spot for alternate universes, so I love Misfire, Play it Again, and those are the ones off the top of my head, because I've listened to the podfics too many times :)

And there are some amazing he can't get out of wolf shape that I have a weird thing for, so if that might be interesting, there's Wolf in the House, Random Craigslist, Importance of.

There's so much wolf stuff, sometimes ABO, often pre-ABO (and the tags don't distinguish regular Teen Wolf alphas and ABO alphas :) I can dig through if that's your thing...

And those two end up a lot on lists for a good reason: Hide of a Life of War and California Werewolf in New York.

(Everything I've recced has been podficced, if that's your thing. I listen TW more than I read, and someone liked it enough to spent hours on it, so that's already a rec...)

I'd second Cathexys' rec of Joe Lawson's Wolf in the House - it's excellent, and does unexpected things in the interstices of the actual story.

Hide of a Life War, too is very good (like Cathexys, I am always tempted to put an additional 'of' in there, but the title lacks the second one; why? Who knows. Is it a quote? No idea).
