Ilona Andrews, Magic Gifts: Novella in which Kate and her mate attempt to have a nice meal together, which of course ends in vampires, death, and dwarves. Also Vikings, and some power struggles in the Guild. Enjoyable, though a bit lightweight, and the main baddie is literally a blank-slate bitch.
