OMG, I love genderswapped Dean so much. Look at pictures from the gag reel! Yearn for the final version!
Very interesting thoughts on the disclaimer “I don’t speak for the OTW,” which resonated for me in part because I’ve changed my thinking about disclaimers on my fan fiction over the years for not entirely unrelated reasons. Many other things are also in that post; I definitely agree with the argument for the importance of fighting against expansive copyright law and the endorsement of Betsy Rosenblatt.
Words of wisdom about limited resources, good faith, and the OTW.
My own thoughts, worth as much as you paid for them: A lot of the necessary work can’t be done in small increments. If we were in a brainstorming phase, I’d ask about the feasibility of doing recruitment/challenges specifically for coders, systems trainees, and testers, perhaps even coupled with pausing recruitment for other projects. This wouldn’t be relevant to everyone, but for those starting out I’d also suggest an expectation that sufficient performance would translate into internship credit/a resume line and recommendation, to improve the extra-fandom payoff for supporting the hard-to-see but vital parts of the Archive.
