Okay, so I liked rageprufrock’s point with respect to Dean’s casual alcoholism continuing in the last scene: nobody thinks this is his happy ending, not him or anybody who knows him, which is why I can live with it for a summer. The fact that both Sam and Dean grabbed onto Lisa and Ben as Dean’s ideal is understandable. It’s just not going to work. Which I hope won’t suck too much for Ben, because I hope this is like night #2 of Dean’s visit, rather than four months later or something awful like that.

I still need the amulet back. Sam, since you apparently have powers now, get right on that, okay?

ETA: Okay, I did a bunch of research on the Impala stories. I am of the opinion that she was built in Texas, but I don't remember whether all the Impalas were made in Texas at that point or whether the show could have gotten it right. Anybody?

For about a minute, while Dean was driving into the cemetery, I thought, "Holy shit, rivkat was right!" Were your ears ringin'?

Totally with you on the timing. It would break my heart otherwise.

I think it was ultimately the right choice to have Adam say all Michael's lines, because it kept it in the family but still allowed Dean to speak for humanity, not angel and not demon. But I still wish we'd gotten some sort of AU or something with Deanifer!

So it is sucky after all? They have been steadily deteriorating by season, the finales, and with the sheer amount of 180s they did the in the few previous eps. I wasn't expecting much.

Mhm. I'll watch it later. Maybe.

At least I've been given to understand that some good fic will come out of this? I love me some dark!Sam, even if they shop antichrist!Sam down.

Show could have gotten it right--they made them in Janesville Wisconsin, also Georgia, Delaware, California, Ohio, and New York.

And I agree on the not happy ending. As for Ben? I'm not sure....maybe Lisa lying {?] about Dean and Ben was for Ben's protection as much as Dean's?
