In line with the fandom-as-boyfriend meme, let me say: Whoa. I didn't know I needed a safeword with you. I'm not sure what's going to happen next, but I can't turn away.

I've also found the perfect vidding song for Torchwood and need to make some hapless vidder do my bidding. The Pioneers (Bloc Party cover) by Tunng. Lyrics. Some tempo issues, but the looming menace is just right.

Fandom, was this known? "The famous 'McKay' study asked subjects to rank comparable academic papers by John T. McKay or Joan T. McKay; the 'Joan' papers were ranked about one point lower on a five-point scale than the papers by 'John.'"

Aww. I think you're the first person to point out the John T. McKay thing. That's cute.

(And it totally gives me even more ammo for my "John and Rodney meet their female counterparts from the other universe, Joan and Meredith, who *hate each other like whoa*, bunny. *G*)

The really fucking depressing thing shown by that article is that Joan and Meredith would have had a much, much harder time getting to Atlantis in the first place. If I were them, I'd be inclined to hate John & Rodney.

Oh, there's that too. (Especially since, yes, Joan is probably still a Captain and Meredith is either second-in-command of Science or else is *in* command of Science but actually has for real everything Rodney thinks he has-- hypertension and ulcers and migraines, etc.)

Oh, I've done that and had incredible writer's remorse. I hope one day the ban will expire.
