It made sense for Logan to tell Beaver not to kill himself, however weakly he did it; Logan well knew the action hero's role in this scene. Indeed, Aaron probably played it once or twice. But for a moment I thought the show was going to kill me by delivering my bulletproof kink: Self-destruction to save the beloved. Because the other way that scene ends is, of course, "Veronica, you're not a killer." [raises gun] "But I am."

I thought the same thing. But I think Logan would have killed if Veronica was threatened at the moment. (Like Cassidy had a gun and so did Logan, and Cassidy tried to shoot Veronica, and Logan had to decide...)

Any thoughts on why they revisited the rape?????

I don't know. It seemed gratuitous to me. Beaver was already a bad guy, and Veronica could have figured it out without the chlamydia -- which was a pretty big leap anyway; it's a common STD.
