He wants someone to obsess over; she wants to be obsessed over. It would be quite cool if she really did stick by his side as long as he told her the truth, even when the truth got nasty. I would love to see them keep that bargain.
See, I'd love to see them keep that bargain, too. My biggest objection to Lex/Lana in the past was that I didn't trust that the PTB wouldn't have it be all unrequited pining on Lex's side and that's ... just not interesting to me. But Lockdown suggested they might go a different way with it, and I'm interested to see if they do. And I have always kind of liked the idea of Lana as the Lady to Lex's dark Macbeth.
