I had forgotten -- nay, I think I never knew -- what it was like to read TWoP recaps by a recapper who just plain likes the show. Sure, gentle mockery on occasion, but done with love. In the latest recap, the line "Okay, continuity guys. Now you're just showing off" made me grin like a madwoman.

Mmm, continuity.

Word. I like the Vmars recapper quite a bit. :) And I'm with you on the grinning with that line.

I really enjoy CB's recaps. The forums, however, sometimes make me want to cry.

Why? I haven't spent much time in the forums, though in my new flush of love I've been poking around some. There is a tendency to canonize Logan, I think -- the biggest reason I don't want him to be the rapist is simply because I don't want to live through another round of Spike Wars. Otherwise, it could be a good plot twist, though I now think it unlikely. What should I be avoiding in the forums?

The Logan thing is mainly what I'm talking about, I'm already tired of people saying he's the new Spike. Logan and Spike have nothing to do with each other. The Buffy/Veronica comparisons bother me also. I watched Buffy, I never think of Buffy when watching VM. I guess my biggest problem is that I want VM to be judged on it's own merits. It's not Buffy and not trying to be Buffy.

The term "Logan Apologist" really irritates me also. I admit that I do like Logan. I respect the opinions of the people who don't, until the Spike comparison't come out, than I'm done. Not liking Logan on his own merits are fine, but not to like because of a different character on a different show is ridiculous to me.

Wow, I didn't mean to start ranting at you. I guess this bothers me more than I thought.

I don't think Logan is the new Spike, but I think the character risks triggering the same kind of divide that I saw in Buffy fandom, especially since sexual violence is a central issue with VM.

I never think of Buffy when I watch VM, except in the sense of "well-written show, continuity, dialogue!" One of the nice things about both shows is that the characters are people, not variations on templates -- even variations on Buffy templates.

I actually want Veronica and Chloe Sullivan to run away together and form their own detective agency
