... to bring you this gem, from a Smallville News guest column: "I ask you this: did Bruce Wayne wear cufflinks made of the bullets that killed his parents? No! Why? Because it’s freakin’ disturbing!!!!! And if a guy who masquerades in a bat costume doesn’t do that, that means it’s *really* disturbing."

Yep.

Also, GIP from [livejournal.com profile] justabi! I should probably read more Wonder Woman, but I don't know where to begin.

No, waitasecond.

Not "our" Bruce Wayne, certainly, but...

Oh, if he did it would be hilarious -- I'm not aware of a Bruce who does, though, are you? But I'd be thrilled to meet a Bruce with Death!Cufflinks. In fact, thinking about it, this is really the most interesting thing about Lana.

Yet Christians wear a cross around their neck, which I have always found disturbing. So that kind of makes Lana's parents like Jesus?

Yes! That's always disturbed me too. Though I see it as more analogous to if I were to wear a little electric chair around my neck.

Yeah, that's a bit of a puzzle to me too. But in SV, we've already got way too many Jesus figures floating around; we don't need to add pancaked parents.

Yes! She's a pink Jesus who doesn't ever show any signs of self-sacrifice or doing much of anything. Her presence on the show is one of the great miracles of our age!

She does go on about her parents a lot, though. So that's sort of Biblical isn't it? Jesus' dad is all over that book - I hear the the New Testament was a spin-off solely for the purposes of furthering Jesus' career. Nepotism: it begins at the top.

Begin with the George Perez trade that came out a few months ago. That's where I started (okay--in 1987, issue by issue for years and years, but you know what I mean), and it's AMAZING and keen.
