rivkat: Lex invincible (lex invincible)

Please, tell me that one (or more) of you is entering the WB/Verizon Get Lex contest. I want to read his emails* but lack the requisite phone service. Indeed, at the moment I lack any cellphone whatsoever, having dumped a bottle of water into my bag yesterday, leading to frizzing and buzzing and ultimately a comprehensive cellphone failure.

Anyway, I'd love to hear about the special content available only to those who sign up for the contest. Also, the contest is called "Get Lex." What's not to love? There should be icons.

*My inner censor said, "Is that what they're calling it these days?" after I typed this.

I think the contrast between Lois's mature appearance and immature behavior is making me more annoyed with her than I might be with someone who came off as closer to 19. Alcohol poisoning? Not as much of a hoot as she thinks. I thought it was bad judgment, not cute, for her to go to a frat party in jammies -- were those pancakes on the fabric, and was that a subtle dig at Lana? 'cause if it was I can forgive more -- and proceed to shock her liver into submission. For gosh's sakes, Buffy did a better job with "frat guys are scary and may (rape) kill drunken girls."

I'm loving Chloe, though, and appreciate that she hasn't dropped out of the picture even though Lois is also starting to investigate.

Hey, doesn't this show star Lex Luthor too? Isn't there a big ole Get Lex contest featuring him? Maybe he really will be phoning in the rest of this year. With dialogue like last night's, I almost don't want him suffering through the show. MR's performance has generally been wonderful, but when the dialogue is this bad, he sounds like every cheesy B-villain ever; the virtue of his performance has always been in putting menace and sex into mundane lines, but when the lines are already over the top, I just don't know whether to laugh or look away. Nonetheless, I miss Lex terribly and was willing to watch Lana to get a chance at him. I may even forgive the concept of Krypto if Lex gets a plot that gets him out of the mansion and maybe -- dare I hope? -- getting his Luthor on.

I'm also hoping that Lionel will show up somewhere other than in the credits. I thought there were contractual obligations to people who were in the credits that they had to get some screen time -- wasn't that what happened to Pete last year? Where is my Magnificent-now-Munificent Bastard?

I'd happily take the "Get Lex" part, but I honestly wouldn't want a walk-on role on the show unless Lana dies a gruesome death between now and then. On the other hand, if the writers are finally realizing that everyone hates Lana and they're not going to change the audience's mind, maybe they'll return Chloe to her previous interesting-ness.

How's this for an Icon slogan: "Got Lex?" (I'd make one, but I don't have Photoshop.)

ITA. I'm actually only watching the thing for Lex. Though I could learn to love Chloe quite a lot.

Did you watch the first couple of seasons? Chloe was setting up to be a very interesting character--hell, she WAS an interesting character. Of course, Lex was one of the shows best people from Day One, but Chloe was another reason I liked it. But I hated the way the writers so clearly "favored" Lana, and made Chloe out to be somehow less desireable to Clark, less attractive a person, less empathic a person because she was a female with a go-get'em personality. Grrr! About the time Lex went bonkers and Lana became Queen of the World, I just stopped being as interested.

Rivka, I think it's a bad, bad sign that the show's most devoted fans *don't care* about this contest. Even last year, when we were less happy about the show but still willing to defend it, we'd have jumped all over this thing. We'd have all switched to Verizon for the Lex content and the chance to walk-on.

I was thinking about it in traffic today. Nope. Just don't care. Poor Lex! But I'm sure the phone content will relate to this boring Lana plot line. Don't. Want. To. Know.

AlMiles promised us The Rift in S4. We heard about the horrific S4 rift relentlessly, and we all dreaded it. What happened?

And now suddenly Lex is all into, well-informed on, a walking encyclopedia on Jason and Genevieve Teague, the Countess, etc.?

I know he's a genius and can multitask mentally, financially and emotionally, but what happened to his interest in Clark?
