rivkat: Rivka as Wonder Woman (Just married)
([personal profile] rivkat Jan. 1st, 2005 05:40 pm)
Completed in time: a last minute madness story for Buzz, Daredevil (comics), Foggy Nelson thinking about Matt Murdock in lawyerly fashion: Diplomat. Also, a Dead Zone (tv) story, Afraid of Americans. With the Discworld story, Yuletide has now made me write in 4 fandoms, out of a total of 7 in my life; 2 of those are fandoms I only started writing in today. While this is SOP for [livejournal.com profile] astolat, it's a little odd for me.

Just read DIPLOMAT. Cool! Way to go, LawyerChick! ::eg::

Told you you'd like Daredevil...

I'm not a hundred percent convinced, but I read Bendis's run and bought the most recent two issues today, so we'll see if it lasts.

In one of the most recent graphic novels about a thousand Yakuza show up to kill DD. He responds by gathering a posse: Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Spider-Man. After they dispatch the bad guys they stand around schmoozing for a bit.

Spidey: Well, I gotta go. I got a hot wife waiting at home. (Spidey swings away on a web)

I. F.: A wife? I always thought he was gay!

L. C.: Says the guy in the yellow slippers...

I. F.: Hey!

I live for dialogue like that.

*flails*

He has Matt's back.

He's a good man, dammit. Thanks for taking the time and talent to give him his voice.

Re: *flails*

Thanks! He is a good guy. I wish the comic had more law in it, though -- I'd really like the lawsuit against the Bugle to move.

I know this feeling, exactly. The Canadian Shacks made me very multi-fannish, but only in quite short form. Yuletide has made me write in twelve new fandoms in two years. It's a scary, scary thing.

And I hope now you know better than to be in arm's reach of [livejournal.com profile] astolat during Yuletide. Fic slaves! She was all whiny when you left!

It was bizarre. When I woke up, I was monofannish, at least in intent; two hours later, I'd committed to a whole new writing fandom. Now that the Yuletide reveal is past, I'm even going to reread some Discworld to get into the right mood.

Well, it's not like that's some great burden.

Oh, now, *that* is admirable. I looked at that last set of requests, with the Discworld, and that was the only one that looked *remotely* feasible, and it was not. *g* Too intimidating, and too many people who *can* do it really well.

Of course, then I wrote a Classical Mythology thing that I was adamant I couldn't do. So.

It appears to be growing a plot. Also, I'm rereading The Fifth Elephant to remind myself how Vetinari talks. I like Vetinari. A lot. I suppose that's no surprise, what with my thing for criminal masterminds who are only out for the greater good of the world.
