Like me, it's really, really, really white. (Unlike me, it probably won't sunburn after ten minutes outside.) Anyone who wanted to give me the gift of art would be rewarded with eternal gratitude, and possibly stories.

Among the tidbits are a few previously uncollected X-Files stories, as well as a new Smallville vid, available here (The Way It Really Is). Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] geekturnedvamp for reassurance on this one.

Coming soon: a page for the long-forgotten Cliche challenge, to collect all your favorite cliche stories in one place.

I'd be happy to make you some art work. What did you have in mind? Do you have a favorite style? A favorite color? Do you prefer black and white?

Excellent! I would really appreciate that. I would kind of like to have some smallish (larger than LJ-icon size but not by more than 4 times) graphic for each of the main pages after the index (SV, XF, Buffy, Vids, Other). Beyond that: I like Lex, Spike and Scully, but I could also go for something more suggestive -- you know how TWoP has little icons for each show? Like that, except not as cartoony.

Thanks so much for the offer. Of course, if it gets to be a pain or real life interferes, don't worry about it.

The Way It Really Is

Wow! Great vid. I really love it. It had a place between my favorite SV vids, just after the first time I saw it.

It's just perfect how it innocently starts with Lex doubting Clark and then spinning completely out of control into a world were the audience starts doubting Lex' POV.

How it moves from Lex wanting to be right about Clark but thinking he's wrong, to making him think that he's wrong about other things too. So he's *making* them right, even though they're really wrong (Helen). And then he's figuring out that he was right all along (about Clark), but now he doesn't want to be right anymore, rather living in his own illusions. Not to mention that even the "reality" might also be an illusion, because we all know that a part of Lex is really crazy and he might still be in the asylum or on the island.... *sigh* It's really beautifully done.

I'm really impressed with the way you managed to counterpoint Lex' wishes and the probable reality. Pointing out all my favorite scenes would take to long... But I really love the scene you cut to "looking through my window" were Lex is actually only looking at himself in the asylum mirror... and how then the cuts are becoming quicker, spiraling into the "starts to rain" collage... flowing back to the island - and then just jumping back into the story.. making it all unreal.

Thanks! It was a hard video to finish, and I'm glad you liked it. I was pleased with "looking through my window," so it's good to know it worked for you.

You know....in response to your remark at the opening of the XF section that you'd forgotten how "few" your solo stories were, there are the missing ::cough:: Folly stories. Hint.

P.S. before you guys get swallowed up in the opening of an academic year, let's try to get together. What is your July like?

Folly

She's right. I'd love to see all of those together again. Seems like Gossamer has only the first part.

Re: Folly

Yeah, well, the reason for that is that I'm embarrassed by the impression they make all together. But perhaps in the interest of historical accuracy I'll put the monster together.

Somehow, those stories make me cringe just a little bit more than the other early ones, because my mistake was to put everything and the kitchen sink into one story, and that's just no good. I suppose I could put up a hidden link or something, not for the faint of heart.

I'm basically footloose and fancy free all month, so let me know what works for you. I'm still RivkaT at aol dot com.

I remember the cliche challenge!

Oh. Thank goodness I popped into the Comments format, or I'da missed the link to your site. So much for rolling the laptop cursor over LJ text.

I like the white--it looks super-clean and it loads like lightning! ;-)
