I remember one dedicated teacher-- the mother of a classmate-- who taught first grade in a public school and loved it. I had some contact with some special ed kids in public school classrooms in Newark and did some substitute teaching there. It was a job for which I was ill-suited on so many levels.
This is a book that I am definitely interested in, particularly since I also know someone who worked for the Board of Ed in the day.
