OK, so the supernatural(ist) therapy last night was emotionally on the nose (I’d say too much, but that’s because I never liked the Ghostfacers), and yes Dean is on the hook for Kevin and for not telling Sam; please take that as given. However, the analogy didn’t make me think “Dean is responsible for extra deaths!” The bad guys would’ve picked some other urban myth if they hadn’t picked Thinman. Those deaths are not on the Ghostfacers’ hands. If anything, I’m adhering more strongly to my theory that, given what we now know about Metatron, closing the gates of Hell would’ve done the same thing as closing the gates of Heaven did: dumped a bunch of demons on Earth, unable to return to Hell. While Dean didn’t know that at the time, he’s lived through a sacrifice of Sam’s that didn’t produce a perfect human world, just set up the next set of challenges.

I wondered about the Slenderman thing, too. But I did recognize the legend—and I actually really enjoyed that part of the episode—so I guess that's what matters.
