S1 SPN rewatch: babies! Just finished the Bloody Mary episode.  (1) Man, Dean didn’t even go an episode without prodding Sam to talk about his feelings—it’s actively hilarious (and tragic) how hard he’s trying to engage Sam emotionally. (2) S1 established that Dean was in fact really good at the job, something that’s been forgotten since mostly for comic effect—not only did he build an EMF detector, he inferred that Bloody Mary could be stopped by making her confront herself in the mirror, since breaking her mirror had failed. Dean understood the structure of the supernatural, not just electronics. (3) Speaking of hilarious and tragic: the line about how all those broken mirrors were like, 600 years of bad luck for the Winchesters. Ha ha ha sob.
