Happy news indeed! My employer will buy me Final Cut Pro so I can make movies. For my students. To illustrate copyright and trademark issues.

The thing is, that's even *true*.

Now I have to figure out if I dare go for the video capture card.

great news. I have the Canopus capture card. I like it but it is having a challenge capturing older vids (ones with fast clips and sound). I'd recommend it if all you need is to capture images. Get it from a company with a good return policy so you can swap it or return it.

other people swear by pass thru camcorders so consider those.

The icon is from the other barber -- Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. A childhood favorite, which probably tells you something about my childhood.
