Lemminglike, I TiVoed Justice League's "A Better World," and found it amusing. Things I haven't seen said:
Many, many questions.
Of the various homages, who got the one from the first Batman movie? "It's gazpacho. It's supposed to be cold."
Wonder Woman's "Do you smell something?"
You mean, like the roasted flesh of your latest ex-president? I'm not disturbed for finding that line hilarious, am I?
Also, when at Arkham one of the JL'ers says words to the effect of "We thought you were the bad Batman," and Batman says, "I am him," which one do you think it was? I kinda think it was Justice League Batman, not Justice Lord Batman. Batman doesn't deny his own potential -- if anything, he's invested in being the kind of guy who's standing in the shadow of his own worst impulses. In that vein, I was fascinated that it was Superman who was next closest to his dark side. Of course we don't really get to see WW or Hawkgirl debate themselves (damn, missing scene thought there), but Superman actually takes one step closer to the line when he makes the deal with (honorable!) Lex. Is it possible that Justice Lord Superman made a deal like that, before his Lex was president?
Now that Batman knows this flatlining capability of Flash's, I think he goes back home & thinks of ways to guard against it.
Finally, I'm not sure knowing yourself would be all that helpful in an actual physical fight against yourself. Thinking of ways to break out of confinement, sure, but it seems to me that knowing your own reflexes would still require you to model your current moves in your head as if you were responding to them to see what you'd do, and this quickly gets hard to do in a split second. The one person you really can't train against is yourself. Unless, I suppose, you make Buffybots like Superman did.
