I don't personally find Joshua Jackson particularly attractive (not unattractive, but basically I want what our Olivia wants for herself, so if it's Peter then that's cool), but: how come Olivia has to strip down to bra and panties to go inside John's head and Peter stays fully clothed?  Hmph.

Wasn't she also in the sensory deprivation tank? Or was that a different instance of going inside someone's brain? My early Fringe watching self was somewhat indifferent and I'm paying for it now.

Olivia gave a damn about her clothes and didn't want them ruined?

The head-sync tech seemed a lot more refined and faster in this ep than in the earlier ep (which makes me wonder if Walter's been experimenting onwith Astrid. Not only did it not require the sensory deprivation, but it didn't require the full crown of thorns.

Then again, it didn't require that when everyone went in Olivia's head after William Bell. Maybe Walter really did figure it out, or it's easier if one of the participants is dying.

As an in-text reason I'd argue that they've refined the technology and no longer need the sensory-deprivation tank, but as an out-of-text reason it's because naked woman make good ratings.

On the other hand, Fringe is otherwise much better about that stuff than most show, so I'm willing to give it more of a pass than I might otherwise.

I agree! By my hmmph was cut short by how awesome Olivia was last night, as is so often the case.
