Still behind on SPN

I’m now only 4 episodes behind in SPN (I was, briefly, seven episodes behind). I … miss the dark filter. As pretty as Dean looks, and as green as it turns out his eyes really are, I still feel weird seeing them so bright all the time.  Also, ok, I'm happy about Sam accepting Dean's explanation for Amy and angry about Becky (so many ways that could have been not as awful).  I still have a ton of reactions and fic bookmarked to read as I catch up.

SO many ways the Becky episode could have been less awful. That episode will go down in history as my least favorite episode of all time. I will most likely never re-watch it, it's that distasteful.

However, I'm now in a much more pleasant fannish place, especially after last nite's ep. Which I won't say anything more about, since you haven't seen it :) But I look forward to hearing more of your thinky thoughts. I think you'll be a bit happier about mood, cinematography, etc too.

What I find interesting is that even though the look of the show is 'lighter' this to me might be the darkest the show has ever been, Cas is SUPER dead, the Leviathans and the Rapey!Becky, a character I've always loathed and now actively want dead, and the fact that I honestly don't think the boys have a way out of the Leviathan situation. I really think there's no way to put that genie back in the bottle and all they'll be able to do is clean up and inform other hunters of the threat. I feel like the writers went, 'Oh you want case of the week and the boys on the road and things like the first two seasons? Okay, we'll give you exactly what you asked for in the most effed up way possible.'
