Grading woes

So fried I misspelled "woes" three times before I got it right.  (And wow, that's a lot of times to use my angry Scully icon in a 1-week period (DW only).)  Note to self: I do not make exams too easy, and I should not worry that I have done so.

Somebody saaave me!  How about, since I'm not reading in H50, if you are, rec me a story I should read.

Oh, oh, H50 story you should read - immediately! This one. Danny's a Veela. Which is a Harry Potter thing but if you google it you know all you need to know. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Also this one. And this one about the end of DADT.

Basic background info: Steve is a former Navy SEAL and does crazy reckless things but is just this side of being a superhero, physically (fighting skills, survival skills, etc). Steve grew up in Hawaii, raised by a cop dad who never showed much affection. Steve has Daddy issues and is devoted to bringing the men who killed his father to justice. Danny's a competent cop from New Jersey who professes to hate everything about Hawaii. He chews Steve out for his crazy recklessness and refusal to follow proper procedure. And speaks in a sort of East Coast Jersey-ish accent. Which is pretty much all you need to know.

Read the one where Danny's a Veela. No, seriously. Read it now.

Thanks! I actually did read the Veela one already, because the rec sounded wacky enough that it was worth a try for a non-show fan, but I will check out the others!

As far as crack-tastic ones go, I quite enjoyed the "Danny is a Were-Shark" fic that BrownBetty recommended a few days ago. Totally ridiculous, totally plausible. I can't recall the title, but i'm guessing a search for "wereshark" and H5O should bring it up pretty quick.

I followed that one too--I find crack easier to get into when dealing with unfamiliar fandoms, so it was intelligible to me--and funny!

When All of New York City Misses You, by leupagus and sutlers on lj, slash with Danny/Steve, NC-17. It's long-ish, clocking in at around 15,000 words, and works on the premise that Steve leaves the Five-0 task force to track down Victor Hesse all by his lonesome. Danny, Kono, and Chin disagree with this decision.

There's also You Can't Carry It with You, by waldorph on lj, which provides a better interpretation of Rachel's initial bitchiness than most people did.

There's also one where Danny's a veela and it is absolutely hilarious, but I can't find the link at the moment, sorry!

Thank you! I've read the Veela one because it had low barriers to entry for a non-fan; I'll check out the others.

I've been on a H50 kick lately and this is my favorite: http://archiveofourown.org/works/136957/chapters/196438 The later bits of the series are good too, but I perfer long fic. If you like threesomes, most of the Catherine/Steve/Danny fics at archive of our own appealed to me.
