Thank you so much! I wanted to see how much would change, and how much would stay the same--like Ruby, still using whatever she could to get Sam to follow her guidance.
I did think that Sam would take a lot for granted, including his assumption that Dee's gender made a difference in his own relationship with John. I wanted him to be well-meaning but still not quite there, even in the end, and I'm glad you thought her choice was complicated but understandable.
