Last week’s Legend of the Seeker: Okay then! Kahlan and Cara finally dealing with each other, passing the Bechdel test! Who wants Kahlan/Cara and Cara/Richard conduitfic now? Or maybe just Kahlan/Cara; I’m not picky. I was totally hoping they’d continue the trend of doubling/using possession to give us another scene of Kahlan Confessing Richard, but I was disappointed.
Dollhouse, several episodes: So I could now write an essay about the connections between spaces in Joss Whedon’s work. Three instances in which every location that matters is directly connected to every other location: BtVS’s Restless; Dollhouse’s The Attic; Firefly/Serenity in almost its entirety, highlighted by the establishing shot/s in the film. What’s up with that? (Contrast Objects in Space--connection, disconnection; if this is all there is, what am I supposed to do?)
The last two episodes: I now think that Whedon is writing his Hamlet. Among other things, this gives me Ballard as poor dumb Laertes; too bad he didn’t die.
