The Poison Fruit: Has Apple Finally Sewn the Seed of Its Own Destruction?

I sort of feel like I should write someone at the law review, but it's already in print and everything. (How would one sew a seed, anyway?) I guess that's how you know a metaphor is dead. At least rein/reign has some minor conceptual justification for the confusion.

Okay, I know this isn't my law review, but it's hurting me in my humanity anyway.

I would think a very fine, but very sharp and strong needle with some sort of monofilament thread would work for many of the mid-sized seeds like those found in an apple. You could probably use damn near anything on, say, a pumpkin or zucchini.

Also, ouch.

(I've seen rein -- being used literally for horse-related things -- spelled as reign so often over the years that I suspect even without the conceptual justification, you'd still see free reign depressingly often.)

I've sewn a number of seeds on various articles of clothing, primarily for use as buttons. I've yet to have one try to destroy me, though. Perhaps Apple has found a variety of seed and/or clothing that has more animation and intelligence than those with which I've been familiar. I certainly wouldn't put it past them, and it certainly would try to turn on them, because it would only be wearable if you synced it with iTunes.

OUCH.

I still struggle with rein/reign, though. And affect/effect for the last three months, even though I NEVER got confused about that one before IN MY LIFE.
