I was looking at
morgandawn’s fan fiction tropes and my first thought was, well, I haven’t done all of them. Like, I haven’t done amnesia. And then I thought: no, actually. Twice is almost exactly like never, right? I’m pretty sure I never had Mulder & Scully bake cookies, though they did do home maintenance (gotta patch those bullet holes somehow). And now that I think about it, I did have Clark bake cookies for Lex. He was bodyswapped with Lex at the time. Is that a Double Fandom Word Score?
Anyway, I could still use some prompts for Eight Crazy Nights, getting closer than ever. If you want to suggest cliches, I’m obviously game. And, um, if someone wanted to beta an XF story, I wouldn’t say no. Fair warning: this story is mostly so old that the filename is in all caps, because I apparently began it on a computer that didn’t even use Windows. But by God I was asked for a sequel to Deny Nothing and there it was on my computer, so I’m going to give it the college (or, more accurately, law school) try.

Accidentally married or wake up married.
Marry for some non-love reason, and end up falling in love.
Wing fic.
Handcuffed together, and on the run.
Transformed into something non-human.
Mpreg.
Sorry I don't have time to beta anything right now.

(oh, FYI, I still rec people to the amazing fic you wrote me last year for Hanukkah, because it was amazing.)
(a sequel to Deny Nothing? I won't deny - oops, sorry, bad pun - I wonder why. The ending was short and frustrating but I liked it for that reason.)
My new fandom is the BBC's Robin Hood, and I think you'd be brilliant at writing Guy/Marian, but I don't know if you know it.
Hope your holidays (and exam gradings) are going well!

I think the point of the sequel is to get to the badwrong M/S/K interactions.
I haven't seen Robin Hood, though I will admit that the Kevin Costner version is a guilty pleasure.

Well, yes. The M/S/K interactions were pretty cool - I loved cold-hearted Mulder, above all, for some reason. I must be deranged.
I LOVE THE KEVIN COSTNER VERSION. Sorry. That was the first feature-length movie I saw as a child! It's terrible and unwatchable but I have it memorized.
re: Robin Hood, BBC
It's not a good show, by any means, it's actually a little painful to watch, but somehow the writers scrounged up some really interesting characters, and the actors were talented enough to make it work.

You ask at the end of the story: "let me know whether you think M&S were doing the nasty."
I could go either way, but I'm going to say no based vaguely on the scene in the van after the rescue. Unless Alex was wrong and they did have sex while he was watching Mulder's apartment -- but I don't think that Scully would have left in that instance.
Now I'm wondering whether you'll leave the question open in the sequel or resolve it. Either way, I'll look forward to it!

I agree with you, by the way, and the sequel is shaped by that belief.

I was reading your post and, for no reason I can think of, flashed on a scene from some movie or tv show where a bunch of people (cops?) are watching a tape of something that pretty obviously has turned into a sexual clinch between whoever they're watching. What cracks me up is that they all, at the same time, slowly tilt their heads to the side in an attempt to follow whatever's going on onscreen.
So.
You've got somebody pulling Monitor Duty. Alert comes up that a League member is battling somebody. I suppose they watch stuff like this so they can send in backup if it becomes necessary. Anyway there's a fight and, while it's never really in doubt that the Leaguer will win the outfits are getting torn, there's a lot of sweating and grunting going on...
The obvious thing would be the cliche'd male reaction (oooh, *catfight*!) so the other obvious thing would be that it's Wonder Woman fighting some other powered female -- sorry, I'm not familiar with her rogue's gallery so can't make suggestions -- and a buddy of the guy on Monitor Duty shows up with beer and chips or something (think Flash and Green Lantern) to help pass the time.
Might be funnier if it were a woman on Monitor Duty... Are there enough women in the League now for this to work?
Anyway, there would be scenes of the guys/girls in the monitor room making remarks, maybe making bets on the outcome, followed by more scenes of the fight, and every time you go back to the monitor room there are more people there...
God, I just had another flash -- WEST WING, when Sam is losing his initial debate with Ainsley. "Toby, come quick! Sam's getting his ass kicked by a girl!" "Ginger, get the popcorn!!"
Hope this is useful. If not, forget I said anything. And Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Sam and Dean end up in the Firefly dimension. Dean meets Mal. Life is awesome. Bonus points for any angels that tag along (Castiel, Uriel).
the something else: I have no idea. Uh, Mal as a (very disgruntled) damsel in distress who must be saved by Dean? (Only, not actually a damsel. But in a sticky situation.)
I wonder what the Winchester brothers would think of Reavers. I think Sam and River could get along like two brilliant, tormented, psychic peas in a pod. (And Simon and his crazyface overprotective brother syndrome would maybe see kin in the Winchester craziness)
I think that Miranda would be very full of haunted people, actually. Hmm. That's Serenity, though, not firefly, and I'm dubious about serenity because -- WASH. Yeah.
Anyway, I hope that maybe some of this spawns evil plotbunnies to proliferate and frolic within your writerly brainspace. No matter what you end up writing, I'm sure it'll be awesome!

How about SV AU C/L as written by Octavia Butler?
E.g. irresistible biochemical attraction or involuntary-yet-complicated
servitude. Reckon we already have alien DNA whose unpredictable
consequences can emerge in adolescence...
And of course you'll get comments on the final version.
