OMG, Smallville! You remembered there was a person named Nell on the show once upon a time and that she had some sort of relationship with Lana! It's pathetic that I'm impressed, but -- I'm impressed! Perhaps we'll hear about Gabe next! (Or, you know, Chloe will visit his grave -- still kinda unclear about that.)

When he said that I exclaimed "Nell! They remembered Nell!" My son looked blank for a moment before remembering who that was.

I have no idea who Nell was. I didn't start watching until season 4, so I guess I missed the person.

Was Gabe Chloe's father? I think I may have heard of him at one point.

Nell is Lana's aunt, who raised her from age 3, when her parents were killed, until season 2, when Nell met a guy and moved to Metropolis, leaving Lana to live first with Chloe and her father and next on her own in the Talon.

Gabe was Lex's employee and Chloe's father. He was a nice guy.

If Gabe is officially dead, I totally missed it. As far as I'm concerned, he's just wandered off into SV limbo, but may someday reappear.
