rivkat: Rivka as Wonder Woman (teyla)

I am really sorry about the cancellation, SG-1 folks, because the new team is finally starting to cohere. And Vala is growing on me. However, I am not pleased that the Jaffa had to be turned into the bad guys to give the (Americans) Earth-folk the high moral ground. US military, you do not get to lecture other people on collateral damage.

As for SGA, when Kolya slapped Weir with "No one deserves this," I wanted to hug him. Okay, he's immoral, but at least he's not in denial!

It isn't a cancellation yet. MGM is very motivated to find a new home for the show (think: Buffy moving from Fox to UPN.) MGM has actually done PR stating that they haven't pulled the plug yet. SciFi also knows that MGM likes having the two shows going at once because they share costs, so this might actually be part of a scheme on their parts to get a better deal with MGM for the show.

I'm not in denial, honest! I've just been auditing this for a while, and I haven't seen anything that makes me want to write off SG-1 completely yet.

I didn't like the Jaffa thing either, but had to give them credit for sowing the seeds for that turn-about in previous seasons. It really wasn't something the writers pulled outa their butts.

When Landry was going on about what the US military does and doesn't do, I was yelling, "TELL IT TO MICHAEL, YOU OLD HYPOCRITE!"

But, yeah, that Kolya line was great.

...which I actually yelled at the TV at that point. A USAF lecturing *against* the functional equivalent to carpet-bombing, indeed!

But I do see an inevitable political logic in a revolutionary government turning around to bite the hand that fed it -
