Paul and Sarah Redmond, a Nip/Tuck story, NC-17, Christian/Quentin, Christian/Kimber, AU after "Madison Berg," which is when I plotted it -- and I'm pretty thankful I did, given what happened later. And yes, it's a crossover, though I don't think you have to know that for the story to make sense.

I read that, thought it was absolutely amazing. I had no idea it was you!

Well, I feel a bit dim, as I had no idea that it was a crossover, but thank you once again for the wonderful gift.

. . . Wait.

They're Mulder and Scully, aren't they?

LOL! I totally missed that! I even knew Rivka wrote it, and I've been reading her stuff since her XF fic days! Wonderful story! :)

Heh. I didn't want it to be important to following the story, but I couldn't stop thinking about bringing in two investigators who could really help find the Carver.

You know, I had the same thought briefly when Sean went to work for the FBI. . .

That rules, and I can't believe I didn't notice it at the first sign of medical jargon and psychological profiling. ;)

God that show is fucked up, and you wrote exactly the kind of fucked up story it deserves. Lately I've been enjoying how Sean and Christian immediately go to surface beauty as the cause of and solution to all of life's problems. Plastic surgery's not just their job, it's the way they see the world, and you got that here with Christian and his belief that beauty's only skin deep, but that's deep enough for him. You totally nailed Quentin -- greasy and oozing fake charm -- it's fabulous that what he really wanted from Christian was to be spanked.

Also I knew that was Mulder and Scully the very second you mentioned Paul's slightly blown pupil. I know way too much about Duchovny's body parts. Truly.

Mulder and Scully were a lovely addition to the story. It was interesting to see them through Christian's eyes. And I still got a tiny thrill out of the idea of them being married.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it! N/T is the slashiest show that ever slashed, down to the name, and it deserves more fic.

[livejournal.com profile] chase820 told me to add the pupil, which worked because Christian would absolutely notice that. I don't think they're married in the sense of having had a ceremony -- unless you count standing under an umbrella while the frogs rain down -- but their papers definitely say they are.

As for the N/T folks, I like the way you describe Sean and Christian. I have real trouble with Sean and how everyone treats him like this god of morals; Christian and Julia have outsourced their consciences, and they haven't picked a very good contractor -- which is why I loved Kimber telling Christian that Sean makes him small. Nonetheless, Christian and Sean do share an awful lot (more than Julia), and the focus on beauty is what unites them -- the thing that I would do with this story if I had spent more time with it is try to give Sean a larger role.

Quentin really got abused by the end of S3. He had a lot of promise as someone you could love to hate.

Thanks for the comments!

The pupil was a great detail, because of all the things Mulder can change about his appearance, that eye isn't one of them. It will always identify him as David Duchovny Mulder.

I did miss Sean -- he's such a big part of Christian's life -- but I guess this was just the part of Christian's life where he had to collaborate with edgy private investigators and whore himself out to Quentin in order to find his fiancee. And I'm totally okay with that.
