Beta version of a Lionel vid here (QuickTime, still a jaw-dropping 20 megs; much progress remains to be made). The intro is undoubtedly coming out, but I had fun.
I love the voiceover intro. It sets a great tone for the rest of the vid.
Other scenes that are right on:
Lionel bursting through the doors in the opening, whee! I don't like that he turns his back to Lex for "introduce myself", though.
Playing piano yay! Adam, Clark, Lex as Pilate. FABULOUS. The crowd? FABULOUS. Fencing? FABULOUS.
OK to list all the other fabulousness would take too long. The only thing really I'd like to see oomphed up is the end ... it trails off a bit, when it should be the big "punch" of the vid. The epitome of Lionel Luthor should be the last chorus, the last ten seconds or so. The whole vid building to that point. You used some of those clips earlier, like the peach clip, that show Lionel's casual decadence, the twinkle of mischief in his eye.
Thanks! I know what you mean about the end; it's something I definitely want to work on. I'm unsure what other scenes I should use. I may have to wait for more episodes, though Lionel's unholy glee has dimmed a bit in recent episodes. Or maybe I just need to rewatch the entire series looking for Lionel bits ... oh, the hardship we suffer for art.
Yup I cheaked if my quicktime has been updated and up to par, all that... to my little knowedge it is!
But your vid will only load the sound not the beautiful wee moving pitures. Why, why computer are you doing this to me!
PS How do I add you to my friends LJ list? I got ya booked marked but I'm trying to cut back to a half a pack a day! ooooo I made a funny! I'm 3 days new to having a LJ, yup spanking brand new, and wow does this brave new world scare me. *no I'm totally normal... never* LB
I'm baffled ... it works on both my Mac (OS X) and my Windows machine (2000 XP), so I just don't know what to tell you. Do you know if you can see my other vids? Like this one (http://homepages.nyu.edu/~rlt2/cflexsmall.mov)?
As for adding friends, click the little head-and-shoulders icon next to a person's LJ name; you'll go to their info page. You'll see an icon that is a plus sign next to a head-and-shoulders icon; that's the "add as friend" button.
Your link won't work. My bad I guess... have you heard of the Smallville video archive page? Why don't your try posting you vid links there? Here's there link:

I recommend: Without you I'm Nothing *hope posting this was ok, great clex, piture is like TV prefect! WOW!*
.. I know why your vid didn't work for me. There is/was something wrong with my Quicktime, I had to delete it, it was not showing the pictures for anything. I may ttry to download again on a later date. Question. Most vids play on either Windows media player or Realplayer, have you tried using these programs to vid yourself?
Finally, I got it to download! I have downloading issues, and they drove me *nuts* with this vid, because I like Lionel and really really wanted to see it.
It was worth the wait. Aside from the obvious perfection of the song choice, you've got some really effective bits in this thing: Clark/Jesus and Lex/Pilate, the address to the crowd at Plant #3, Chloe/troubador, Martha and Lionel and the watch, the bit with the peach, the bit with Emily, and I *love* your placement of the clip of Lionel on the treadmill. I agree with boniblithe about the ending, though; as the final note to a *very* enjoyable vid, it felt a little cut-off.
I'm really eager to see the finished version, whenever you happen to release it. I'll *definitely* download it, despite whatever issues the internet decides to have at that time. *g*
Hey, thanks. I'm reworking the ending -- the end of S3 gave me a lot of help with that, so I have hopes. I'm glad you liked Chloe; I was proud of her being the troubador. (It turns out someone else did a Lionel/Sympathy for the Devil vid too, which I haven't watched for obvious reasons, but I was feeling a little insecure, so your note couldn't have come at a better time.)
