Have you read Hillbilly Elegy? I can't remember. You read a lot. *g* Anyway, I read that recently, and it has some similar themes; I am always struck by the petulance of people who don't recognize their own privilege because they can't take further advantage of people who don't have privilege, and who don't take full advantage of their own advantages but waste effort whining about people who aren't like them, and don't have empathy in any way about any of that. And I recognized the people I grew up with, in my youth, and mercifully moved away from while I was still a kid.
