This could have been expected: Google is "integrating" Reader into G+. While the official post dances around the issue, it's fairly clear that they're going to export G+ policies to Reader. If the service is "no longer for you" as a result, you'll be able to export your feeds. ETA: Google also promised to support pseuds, separately.  So this may not be the disaster I feared at all!

I'd wondered why Reader had been demoted to the "more" menu on the new layout. Sigh.

Yeah, it's far from clear I'll be able to keep it, but I'm somewhat less worried about being suspended because my Reader account is my pseud, though Google's policy still seems quite murky.

Thanks for the link to the OWS article! I've been so discouraged that the only news coverage has been discrediting the protetesters' valid viewpoint.

Yeah, but as SKud points out, it's not as if they've given anything regarding a timeline, and I suspect they're still enforcing the Real Name policy.

Yeah, I noticed that the timelines don't exactly match. It'd be boneheaded to enforce the real name policy during the switch, but Google's lost my trust on that one. Still, I didn't spend an hour today moving my RSS feeds out of Reader, because I'm trying to trust that my account won't get suspended as long as I don't do anything on Plus.

Once a month, I export my greader feeds - and now that it's getting integrated, it'll hopefully be in Takeout soon (which actually phenomenal, really).

But yeah, there's a reason this G+ account is getting minimal traffic.
