re your last point: As I understand it, and I would be happy to be wrong, if someone were to reply to your comment to a post and click the crosspost buttons (assuming that journal owner hadn't disabled them), then your comment would be included in the crossposted comment as quoted content.
I haven't tested this, though, so I don't know if it actually works.
