I wanted to first up say that this is beautifully written and well-crafted and kept me locked to the screen to find out how everything turned out. Also to say that at the very least that it is thought-provoking, not a compliment associated with fanfic nearly often enough.
Right now I'm torn between hating Dee for her decision, hating myself for *not* hating Dee for her decision, hating the world for making her decision sound reasonable, or that other strange possibility, that perhaps for Dee/Dean this actually was the right decision. (And I'm resisting the urge to demand a remix from Dee's POV to help clear the issue up a bit; there's every possibility it would only muddy it further). It's a touchy issue on a number of fronts and I honestly can't say where I fall yet: but like I said, thought-provoking isn't a bad thing.
Anyway, I'm rambling now, but I did want to thank you for coming up with such an interesting new lens to view this universe through and for sharing it with us.
