Well, that was one hell of a ride! Your fic was recced at spn_first_time and I clicked on the link and I just couldn't stop reading, from start to finish. I'm not really into evil!Sam but there is something fascinating in Sam not being evil but being raised by evil people to do evil things. Mostly because it's so interesting to see the moment he will change side, because of the power of love (LOL, I know it's cheesy and even only writing it makes me laugh but it's also so true!) That's something you wrote beautifully! I particularly liked the slip from Winchester to Dean. When I noticed that Sam was always referring to his brother as "Winchester", I knew the passage to "Dean" would be a threshold so I tried to pay attention. Even like that, it was so smooth that I only noticed it 4 pages after the change and I had to go back to see when it had changed! And of course, I like how Sam is denying things for a long time and his change of mind is so very subtle.
I really enjoyed reliving the entire first season of the show from Sam's twisted perspective. Is it wrong of me to be glad Sam went back to kill the people from Burksville? I was also very glad to see John. Even after two seasons without him, I still miss the bastard.
And how much did I adore what you did of Dean in this fic! How different he is when he didn't grow up with a kid brother to take care of. How being his father's only soldier made him even more vulnerable and socially challenged. Did I snigger at the discovery that Dean wasn't a ladykiller? Hell yes I did! I loved the couple he and Sam formed. And I loved the fact that Dean accepts Sam's love even if he knows he is his brother.
And you finished your fic by "We have work to do"! That gives you even a bonus point! LOL I just love this sentence, it's so canon. So thanks a lot for sharing, it was just awesome! =D
