Wow, he even created a web site so that he could share his novel for free over the internet! Aren't men clever? Don't they do the darndest things?

Why, next they might even think to take clips of their favorite shows and rearrange them to music! Although I shouldn't presume to speculate on what bountiful male creativity may bring forth in the future.

Nothing to add, except my amusement at how the reporter's observation at the beginning of the story (live in Borders!) that Deathly Hallows has been selling "pretty well" really sums up his astuteness as a cultural observer.

How demoralized must I be to feel grateful that Fox News' first contact with Harry Potter fanfiction was so "gee whiz!" benign?

But I have to say: Before DH came out, wasn't there already news of fake Harry Potter books published in China by people cashing in on the popularity? I read of one man who wrote books 7, 8 and 9 because his kid was clamouring for more Harry Potter and couldn't wait. This one only has a website? Pft.
