My, they had a lot to get done. The emotional pacing reminded me very strongly of Ray in cesperanza’s DS story Eight Sessions -- “‘He’s like an emotional gymnast—fear, anger, hate, loathing, joy, love, dismount, and the Russian judges give him a 9.8.’” I nearly got whiplash in Lois’s scene with Clark at the end, though the actors were giving it their best. Other than that, I reserve judgment.

You know [livejournal.com profile] geekturnedvamp keeps telling me that this season is really good and goes back to the hoyay happiness reminiscent of season 1. Your thoughts?

I'm unwilling to get my hopes up based on one episode, but it was not unslashy.

Hey, I only partly pay attention to Smallville these days so maybe I missed something - or maybe it's something I'd've understood if I read the comics, but -- that chick at the end who's gonna be Supergirl? What was the bracelet? Were we supposed to know what that was? And is that the same Supergirl-ish person Clark met from the Phantom Zone a while back?

Clarification would be most appreciated...

I don't think we were supposed to know what the bracelet was. I just thought it was a reminder of her past life, but perhaps it will take on a greater plot role later.

She's not the same person Clark met from the Phantom Zone; that blonde chick died. She's also not the blonde chick who called herself Kara and said she was Clark's cousin; that was a blonde human chick manipulated by Jor-El. Who she is remains to be seen.

Embarrassingly, I got it before I was aware of icon comment fields (perhaps before they existed; didn't they used to have only keywords?); I think it came from Lanning Cook, but I'm not 100% sure.
