Seconding the love for Persepolis, which I ended up liking better than the sequel. It's not that the sequel is bad, it's just that I found the issues and the contrasts between child-Marjane and post-revolution Iran fascinating. Satrapi's narrative in the first one is wonderfully funny and unsentimental as well.
