Smallville/comics question, which might be perceived as spoilery for tonight's (now last night's) episode:
Is it comics canon that Perry is an Elvis fan, or is that just from Lois & Clark? Whatever, I loved "Walking in Memphis," though I agree that Lane Smith would have been an even better casting choice than Faux Mulder.

Just L&C canon as far as I know. It's not the first time SV has made an L&C-specific reference-- I still think Lex's line to chainsaw-handling!Martha in "Cool," "At least you weren't welding," was a ref. to L&C!Martha's habit of welding sculpture as a hobby.

As far as I can remember it's a L&C reference, not comics canon. Though, I could be wrong, I wasn't really keeping up with the Supes books at the time but I know that they did incorporate a lot of the stuff from L&C into the comics canon at the time.

I don't remember him ever being an Elvis fan. Post-Silver-Age: not sure. [livejournal.com profile] digitalwave is probably right in that, if this element did show up in the comics, it probably wandered over from L & C.
