TV thoughts

No, I don't really have anything interesting to say about SV. I've only seen the first three episodes so far, so: spoilers in comments, you/me/shovel, you know the deal. I've been spoiled for some things, but mostly I forgot them because I wasn't watching the show until just now. Anyhow, why isn't everyone in the world writing Veronica/Weevil? I could get behind Veronica/Weevil/Logan too, you betcha, but right now Weevil's my hero. I like men who take responsibility and protect their own -- even with all the swaggering. I'm also really impressed by how unabashedly heavy the show is, starting with rape and murder and going from there.

Oooh, Weevil. What is it about a bald man with an attitude? But Logan and Weevil get my vote for heroic man type.

What impresses me so much about VM is its ability to tackle these heavy topics without being heavy-handed. It'd be so easy to sermonize and be downright depressing, but it manages to weave the darker issues into the framework of the story so seamlessly.
