It's like a master class in sexism, Western individualist edition

The Electric Barbarellas are five girls just trying to get their stuff together. Yes, they sing. And they dance. And of course, they are sexy. But that’s where the similarities to other girl groups end. Because for every 2 steps forward they take, they take 3 back.

Based on the real-life exploits of an all-girl electronic pop band trying to make it in Hollywood, the show will follow these larger-than-life starlets as they try to stay focused and out of each other's way – It’s gonna be a long road to the top!

The Electric Barbarellas are more than just a pretty all-girl group trying to make their mark in the music world. They are five unique, charismatic girls with big personalities and bigger dreams, all with their own stories to tell. As a group they are working together to figure out how to make it to the next level. But as individuals, they each have their own aspirations and their “other lives” that seem to keep getting in the way.

Our characters are different than most women girls, because they actually have thoughts and dreams! Almost as though they are real people!

Why are they described as girls? Are they below the age of menarche?

Why would anyone think it a good idea to name a band after one of Duran Duran's crap comeback attempts?

They each have "other lives"? Oh my god, is that allowed?
