SPN/BtVS: Under Darkening Skies

Under Darkening Skies
Summary: The Winchesters take a job involving a demon-influenced woman and a powerful witch. Explicit heterosexual content (not, amazingly enough, involving Faith).  35,000 words.
Notes: Written for Sweet Charity for [livejournal.com profile] giandujakiss. This goes AU early in SPN Season 3 and right after the first “episode” of Buffy Season 8. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] geekturnedvamp for beta and [livejournal.com profile] giandujakiss for accepting a shift in her scenario!

I hope you enjoy it! I just wrote my own biased summary for someone else: Sam & Dean are demon-hunting brothers, raised into the life since a demon killed their mother when Sam was an infant and Dean was four. Sam ran away to go to college, but returned to hunting when the same demon killed his fiancee right before he was supposed to graduate and start law school. Dean always followed his father's orders, but leader/follower as between the brothers is considerably more complicated. In the course of fighting the demon -- which had given Sam, along with a bunch of other kids, psychic powers as part of an attempt to create a demonic human who could lead a demon army out of Hell -- Sam was killed. Dean sold his soul to a crossroads demon in exchange for Sam's resurrection; his deal gives him one year before he goes to Hell. After that, Sam and Dean defeated the demon, though many others remain loose in the world. SPN demons are generally spirits that possess human bodies and seem more closely tied to Christian concepts, though to attribute a coherent theology to the show would probably be reaching. Um, I hope that helps.
