What a good way of putting it - as far as I can tell from my husband (who is a diehard Sanderson reader), part of the appeal of Sanderson IS that the...prose is very unremarkable etc. BUT lots of "magical physics" neepery. (I tried Sanderson and he wasn't for me, although he's clearly doing very well!)
