I started reading this today. What an awful situation for Dean, because no, he really can't live in a cage. And Sam is so trapped by the guilt of his life that he can't move on either. I totally believe Dean's deathwish. It has been part of him for most of the series. He just can't see that Sam really can't function sanely without him. I can't wait for the rest of this.
