I recently heard for the first time what is apparently a well-known saying: "A writer cannot convincingly write characters smarter than they are." Even if this is true (my jury is still out, lol), I can't imagine you'll hit a glass ceiling any time soon.

This was brilliant. I'd like to offer substantive feedback, but really, what can I say? Your writing is brilliant. It's elliptical and vague yet simultaneously exact. I wonder if you've ever been told your writing is "highly stylized," because in a way it is. However, I'd be shocked if this were any affectation; your writing is so highly structured it attains a stylistic weight.

(I hope I'm cogent right now. lol It's pretty late.)

I'll try to say it another way: Your writing is so distinct at first I thought "Wow, she makes the most interesting choices," but as I read "Incarnadine" I realized that the elements in your writing were so intermeshed I couldn't imagine you making a different choice. That astounds me.

Happily, I stumbled across your work just the other day, when I read "Incarnadine," which I think is remarkable. I greatly look forward to reading the continuance of this WiP, and I'm going to go look for more of your stories this evening, lol.

Hopefully I don't sound all geeky at this point, but seriously, I'm so impressed. :)
